Milarepa, one of Tibet's most revered yogis, was an 11th-century Tibetan Buddhist master. Before becoming a yogi, he had led a life marked by grief and vengeance. However, after realising the emptiness of his actions, he turned to spirituality and began a journey of profound inner transformation.
Milarepa taught that our limiting thoughts and perceptions are the only obstacles to our full potential. One of the most famous stories of his teaching is that of his handprint in the rock. While meditating in a cave, he vowed to rise above the cliff to prove the illusory nature of physical limitations. Through the power of his meditation and concentration, he left his handprint in the rock before soaring into the air.
This story symbolises the human capacity to transcend perceived limitations through the power of the mind. Milarepa taught that our thoughts, beliefs and attachments are the only obstacles to our inner freedom. By freeing ourselves from these mental fetters, we can realise our highest potential and live in full awareness of ultimate truth.
In this way, Milarepa reminds us that the key to freedom lies in mastering our mind. By cultivating meditation, compassion and wisdom, we can transcend our self-imposed limitations and live a life of peace, joy and fulfilment.
"The universe is the way it is, our body is the way it is, and the same goes for the different situations in our lives, which has to do with awareness and our perception of ourselves in the world." Gregg Braden
The meditations I'm referring to are not moments of relaxation, where your mind wanders here and there as we often find; they are mindfulness meditations that allow us to take control of our mind.
If you too would like to take the reins of your life into your own hands, consciously choose your destiny and free yourself from limiting thoughts, don't hesitate to contact me. I'd be delighted to accompany you on your path to liberation.
